Masterskaya founded by Maya Selezneva in 2018 is a creative space for practice/training/performance/screen work as their crosspoint as an alternative educational and collaborative path to grow an develop in dance field for movers, dancers and performers of different age, experience, background and physical curiousity.
The project is aiming to attract the dancers, choreographers, teachers, lectors, film makers, musicians, other artists of local stage in order to create crosspoints for exchange and collaborative projects, as an environment and base for all programs of Masterskaya.
The project intends interacts with strong local theaters as Alexandrinsky, Escabo contemporary dance stage, Modern Dance Center and Rezidentsia , where Masterskaya’ last workes were represented.
We like to think about the project today as a floating island, it means that it doesn't below to a city, it unites people and creates opportunity, knowledge and practice pool where we go.

She is interested in moving and creating towards the meeting boiling point of contemporary, urban dance tools and physical theater, enriching one another one and giving the inspiration to embrace new touch of move and
groove on the borders. She is combining her artistic work with path towards movement/dance space managment, running the educational programs and taking part in dance festival coordination
Maya represented Russia as part of an artistic cultural bridge with the Scandinavian countries of the Barents region, where she danced, taught and choreographed for UKM/Tromsø (2014-2022).
She also had the opportunity to work with the contemporary space GES--2 (Russia), the art residency CN D (France), the Napa Gallery (Finland) and Netzwerktanz (Austria), and was also the choreographer of the residency in the NOD space (Italy). Maya has been selected as a member of the Lab for Young Choreographers at the 2017-18 Context Festival: Gaga Lab/Batsheva repertoire and Wayne McGregor's Mind and movement method.
As a performer/dancer, she works with Alina Belyagina, Elena Churilova, James Finnemore, Guy Shomroni and Yaniv Abraham, was a member of the For example Dance Company, worked as a dancer in the works of Lee Nekrasova, Tomislav English, Mualem / de Fillipis Project, Third Rail Projects and in own productions.
Maya also works as a freelance choreographer. Her works "Bubbleland", "Sleep tight", "Gone", "Bien, maman" and "Mandrakes" were presented at the festivals "Open Look", "Five Year Plan" and "New Forms" for the New Stage / Alexandrinsky Theater, at such stage venues such as Escabo stage, Skorokhod and Rezidence, including her work being presented on stage at the Vittoria Theater in Turin, Italy.

Fatigue, joy, despair - no reason to stop dancing. All these states are natural, and one must learn to be in them. Respect your body conditions in the certain day and time, and do as much as you can effort to do in the certain state and with a certain level of tiredness, stress, etc.
Dance should always be yours. To do this, you need to learn how to adapt everything for yourself. According to your capabilities.
